About ANU:-
The name, Nagarjuna University is quite significant that the great Buddhist teacher and philosopher Acharya Nagarjuna founded a university on the banks of the river Krishna some centuries and made it a great center of learning, attracting a large number of teachers and students forming distant parts of the world. The University was established by Act 43 of 1976 by A.P. State legislation and ruled by Law 4 of 1991 covering 6 universities in the state. Today’s Acharya Nagarjuna University is not far from the Haloed Spot since it was their moral and intellectual support from Acharya Nagarjuna, in which context the university was renamed Acharya Nagarjuna University by the AP Universities Act, 2004, proclaimed by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.
