The Aluru Kona Ranganatha Swamy Temple is located in the Ananthapur district. Yerramraju was the head of the Bukkraya court of the Vijayanagara kingdom and built the Temple in 1334 AD. Ranganatha Swamy Temple is a well-known temple that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple at the top of the hill is comprised of 51.48 acres of land.

In the beginning, Vishwamitra Maharishi was leading the Yagnas. His yagna was upset by the evil spirits known as Tadaka as well as Mareechan. Due to the disturbance caused by evil spirits, Vishwamitra could not do the Yagna.

Vishwamitra visited Ayodhya and demanded that King Dasaratha take his children along with him into the forest to remove the evil spirit. The rulers Rama and Lakshman went on a run together with Vishwamitra. They defeated the demons. Then, yerramraju constructed this temple.
