Satyendranath Bose

Born: 1 January 1894, Kolkata

Died: 4 February 1974

Accomplishments: “Bose-Einstein theory”, subatomic particle boson named in honor of his name, “Padma Bhushan” award

Satyendra Nath Bose, a renowned Indian physicist. He is renowned for his significant contributions to quantum Physics. His work in quantum physics provided the basis for the theories of “Bose-Einstein Statistics” as well as”Bose-Einstein Statistics” and “Bose-Einstein condensate”. In physics, there exist two kinds of atoms, Bosons as well as fermions.

“Bosan” is the name given to the legendary Indian researcher Satyendranath Bose, who immortalized his name in the field of physics since this famous Indian scientist provided a brand new direction for the field of modern Physics i.e. quantum physics. His research was highly appreciated by the legendary scientist Einstein and numerous theories were developed with Einstein. His quantum physics research led to a fresh direction in the field and numerous scientists who came up with new discoveries on the basis of his discoveries won Nobel Prizes. Nobel Prize.

The first step is life.

Satyendra Nath Bose was born on 1 Jan 1894, in Kolkata. He is the son of Surendra Nath Bose and works in the engineering department of the East Indian Railway. Satyendra is the oldest of seven siblings. He started his schooling at a school that was common near his home. Following that, he attended New Indian School and joined Hindu School. After his schooling was completed in Kolkata, he enrolled at the famous Presidency College, Kolkata. One of the most interesting aspects of his accomplishments is that he received the top marks in all his examinations and came in first. With this ability of his, it was often said they would see him become a top mathematician or scientist.

He graduated with his M.Sc in 1915. (Mathematics) the test was the first in the first class and was passed. The college’s principal Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee was well aware of his talents and appointed Satyendra Nath as the professor of Physics. He held this position from 1916 until 1921. He joined the newly-established Dhaka University in 1921 as an instructor in the Department of Physics. Following his appointment at Dhaka University as a lecturer and researcher, he carried out important research in mathematics and physics.

This was the time of scientific discoveries in the field of physics. German scientist Max Planck proposed quantum theory. Albert Einstein proposed the “Theory of Relativity” in Germany. Satyendranath Bose had been studying these inventions and conducting research.

Satyendranath published a paper titled “Planck’s Law of Light Quantum” and then submitted the paper to be published in a British journal. The paper was turned down by the editor. Following this, he mailed it directly to the famous scientist Einstein. Einstein recognized the importance of the paper and believed this paper to be a significant contribution to mathematics. He translated the paper into German and published it in the journal “Zit for Physics’. The two great scientists collaborated on numerous theories.

In the meantime, Bose has submitted another research paper to be published in the journal Physics Journal. This paper shows that an error has been discovered when applying the Maxwell-Boltzmann law to particles like photons. The journal was not able to publish the article and Bose returned to send this paper on to Einstein. Einstein was doing more research, and in collaboration with Bose, published a study in ‘Jet for Physics’. The paper laid the groundwork for a new area of quantum physics known as ‘Bose-Einstein Statistics. Through this, the characteristics of all kinds of boson particles are determined.

Biography Of Satyendranath Bose

Following this Bose went to Europe from 1924 until 1926. He worked with scientists such as Marie Curie, Pauli, Heisenberg, and Planck. He also met Einstein in Berlin. After 2 years of living in Europe, Bose returned to Dhaka in 1926. He sought a position as a professor at Dhaka University however, he was denied the Ph.D. was not available the candidate was not eligible for the position. After a suggestion from acquaintances, he obtained an endorsement from Einstein who, in turn, was the reason he was offered the position. Bose resided in Dhaka from 1926 until 1945.

He returned to Calcutta in the year 1945, where he was named professor of Physics at Calcutta University, then retired from Calcutta University in 1956 and relocated to Santiniketan. He was not able to remain for long in Santiniketan and had to go back to Calcutta in the year 1958. The same year, he was appointed as a Fellow of the Royal Society and appointed National Professor. To honor his extraordinary accomplishment in the field, The Government of India honored him with the title Padma Bhushan.

He died on the 4th of February 1974, in Kolkata. He was aged 80 at the time. at the time.
