Yashwant Sinha, the Indian politician and the senior chief in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Yashwant Sinha, a bureaucrat-turned-politician, is widely regarded as a game-changer for the Indian economy. In his political career, Sinha was widely regarded as a gentleman and a man who did not engage in any of the nuances of politics. Yashwant Sinha joined Indian politics through a Janata Dal ticket after leading an influential political career.
As a foreign minister and spokesperson for Bharatiya Janata Party. He was also Finance Minister under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government. He has been a part of India at numerous international conferences as well as parties from the political and social sectors. He greatly influenced Jai Prakash Narayan’s social movement during the 1970s. In recognition of his contributions to Indo-French relations presented France’s highest civilian award “The Legion of Honour” in 2015.

Yashwant Sinha was born on the 15th of January 1937, in the Kayastha family from Patna the capital of Bihar. His first education was at Patna. Following this, in the year 1958, the student completed Post Graduation in Political Science. Then, he taught the same subject at Patna University till 1960. Then, in 1960, he received a nomination to be a part of the highly coveted Indian Administrative Service. Over the next twenty-four years, the veteran was employed in a variety of important positions.

Yashwant Sinha has held numerous important positions during his time in the Indian Administrative Service. He was in several highly prominent positions throughout his lengthy time in office throughout. Sinha was a Sub-Divisional Judge, as well as a judge for four years. He was Secretary as well as Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Government of Bihar for two years. Later, he was named Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.
From 1971 until 1974, he was appointed as the first Secretary of the Embassy of India in Bonn, Germany. Served as Consul General of India in Frankfurt from 1973-1974. In the time he was in this position for seven years, the Consul General gained extensive knowledge of the field of foreign trade as well as India’s relationship to India’s relations with the European Economic Union. In the following years, he was the head of the Department of Industrial Infrastructure, Government of Bihar, and Ministry of Industry, Government of India in charge of diverse issues about international business collaboration, technology import, and contracting for industrial work.
He was Joint Secretary for the Ministry of Surface Transport, Government of India from 1980-84 and was involved in issues that dealt with ports transportation, shipping, and road transport. Yashwant Sinha was heavily inspired by Jai Prakash Narayan’s social movement during the 1970s.
Life in politics
The year 1984 was the time that Yashwant Sinha left his position in the Indian Administrative Service and joined the Janata Party. In 1986, he was elected an All India General Secretary of the party, and in 1988 as elected Member of the Rajya Sabha. Following the creation of Janata Dal in 1989, it was elected as the general secretary of the group. From 1990 to 1991, he was serving as Finance Minister during the Chandrasekhar government.
In 1996 the year he was appointed the spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Yashwant Sinha was Finance Minister under Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government from March 1998 until May 2002, and later the Minister of External Affairs until the close of 2004. Yashwant Sinha was defeated in during the elections of the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from his seat of Hazaribagh, Bihar (now Jharkhand). He returned to Parliament in 2005 but resigned from the position of BJP Vice President in 2009.
