If people have damaged or lost their identity card, they can request a double voter ID by following the steps below –

1.      Individuals should first visit their local police station and file a police complaint as an FIR is required to provide a duplicate identifier of the voter.
2.      The necessary details such as the voter identification number, name, address fill, and so on should be provided.
3.      Individuals will then have to use form 002 which is available on the website of the India Election Commission and ill in the required details.
4.      Individuals must also file Rs. 25.
5.      The address and proof of identity must also be provided with form 002.
6.      The above documents must be submitted to the office of the nearest Electoral Commission, which will then be examined and a new voter identifier will be sent directly to the applicants.
