Hidimbi, first of all, was a Demon, the sister to Hidimba, a Demon and King of the Kamyaka Forest. According to the legend, Kamyaka forest was visited by Pandavas as they tried to hide from Kauravas.

Hidimba learned this and asked Hidimba to lure Pandavas. She set out to fulfill her mission and reached the Pandavas. She fell in love and agreed to help Bheem. She was open and honest with them, and she asked Bheem for her hand in marriage. He told her that he could not stay with her for long. He agreed to marry her and they had a son in a year.

She went to the hills to meditate after Bheem had left. She was able to acquire supernatural powers and was christened Devi. Although she may come from a demon family, she is kind and helpful. With respect for her vocals, we built the temple and began performing poojas.
