Under the driver cum owner system, unemployed youths are given the SC, ST, and minorities Maruti Swift Dzire cards, and the loans are provided by banks. SC, ST candidates can get subsidies on the cost of the vehicle. The first phase of the driver cum owner scheme was launched by the Deputy CM of Telangana State and at this stage, 105 vehicles were distributed to the youth. In the second phase, almost 303 vehicles were distributed to the beneficiaries. Some of them were engaged in Telangana and some were rented by OLA cabins, Sky cabins, dot cabs, etc. Telangana rented this for Rs. 25,000 per month and the cab operators give a deal between 45 to 60 thousand rupees a month.
