Meghalaya has its main office, which operates under the authority and directions of the election of India. It has a website that allows the voters of Meghalaya to register online. You can visit the portal here: http://ceomeghalaya.nic.in. Meghalaya CEO has the responsibility to conduct elections for Legislative Assembly, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. They also prepare electoral rolls in various constituencies in Meghalaya. The state electoral office also works in co-operation with ECI to award voters’ identity cards to Meghalaja residents. The website of Meghalaya CEO is properly planned and well-designed to provide detailed information to the residents about electoral machinery, election dates, electoral list, status tracking mechanism and possibility to register for voters ID card online. There is also a decimated section to download various forms.
Follow the steps below to request the Voter ID in Meghalaya:
For online registration procedures, head over to http://ceomeghalaya.nic.in/, which is the state’s CEO website, and to the right of the home page, you can see “e-registration” link. Click on it and you will be taken to http://164.100.149.198/erms/, where you can see a link for “Request for inclusion of the name in electoral roll (form 6)”. Click on it and continue with the new page.
Newly opened page is http://164.100.149.198/erms/form6.jsp that is the form 6 for registering the new voter ID card. Complete all the details such as first name, last name, date of birth, and so on. Please fill in your address and details of the family members in the next section.
Go to the next section of the explanation and fill in all mandatory fields. Ensure that you enter the correct hand-number and e-mail address as you receive your application ID or the receipt slip. As soon as you have checked all the details, click on to register your application.
Because there is no option for uploading photo and identity verification documents on the site, you must download the form, fill in the details, attach all the identity documents, and send them to your next election committee.
Once your request is processed, a stand-level officer from Meghalaya will elect your residence to review the details, and upon confirmation you will be issued your voter ID.
