విష్ణురామిదేవుడు శ్రియాదేవి దంపతులకు జన్మించాడు.సోమేశ్వరుని భక్తుడై ఆ
స్వామిమీద సోమనాథ స్తవం రాశాడు. జాను తెలుగు కవిత్వానికి,ద్విపద ఛందస్సుకు
ప్రాచుర్యాన్ని చేకూర్చాడు. వీర శైవ మతావలంబకుడు. తెలుగు, కన్నడ భాషలలో
రచనలు చేశాడు. తెలుగులో ఆనాటి సాంప్రదాయానికి భిన్నంగా దేశి భాషలో ఆయన
రచనలు చేసారు..వరంగల్లు జిల్లా పాలకుర్తి శివకేశవులు ఇరువురు స్వయంభువు
లుగా ఒకే కొండపై వెలసిన దివ్యక్షేత్రం. దట్టమైన చెట్ల మధ్య కొండ పై భాగాన
రెండు గుహలు. ఒక గుహలో సోమేశ్వరుడు, ప్రక్కనే వేరొక గుహలో లక్ష్మీనరసింహుడు
కొలువు తీరి కొలిచిన భక్తులకు కొంగు బంగారమై నీరాజనాలందుకుంటున్నారు.
క్షేత్ర మహత్మ్యం :— ఈ కొండరాళ్లకు ,చెట్లకొమ్మలకు పదుల కొద్ది తేనెపట్టు
లుంటాయి. శుభ్రత పాటించకుండా ఆలయానికి కొస్తే తేనెటీగలు శిక్షణ భటులుగా
వారిని వెంబడించి స్నానంచేసేవరకు వారిని వదలవట. స్వామికి మొక్కులు మొక్కి,
ఆపదలు తీరిన తరువాత మర్చిపోతే స్వామి వారికి వెంటనే గుర్తు చేస్తుంటారట.
శ్రీ సోమేశ్మవర స్వామి వారి దివ్యరూపం
ఎత్తైన కొండ రెండు గా చీలి,
ప్రదక్షిణ మార్గానికి దారి ఏర్పడటం చూపరులకు ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని కల్గిస్తుంది.ఒక
భక్తురాలి కోరిక మేరకు కొండ రెండుగా చీలి ప్రదక్షిణ మార్ ఏర్పడినట్లు
భక్తులు చెప్పుకుంటారు. అది సహజసిద్ధంగా ఏర్పడినా ఒక సహజ ప్రకృతి రమణీయ
ప్రదేశంగా గుర్తించ దగ్గది. కొండపై నున్న శిఖరదర్శనం చేసుకోవడానికి
పెద్దపెద్ద రాళ్ళ మథ్యనుండి పైకి మెట్ల మార్గం ఉంది.
ఇక్కడే గండదీపం మిద్దె ఉంటుంది. ఈ మార్గం ద్వారా భక్తులు పైకి వచ్చి
గండదీపం వెలిగించి తమ మొక్కులను తీర్చుకుంటారు. కొంచె బరువైన శరీరం కలిగిన
వాళ్ళు, చీకటికి భయపడేవారు, ఆథునికంగా నిర్మించిన వేరే మెట్ల దారి ద్వారా
పైకి చేరుకొని గండదీపం వెలిగించుకుంటారు.
మెట్ల మార్గం శ్రీ స్వామి రెండు గుహలకు కొంచెం దక్షిణంగా ఉంటుంది. ఈ మెట్ల
మార్గానికి ఆనుకొని కొండ లోపలికి క సొరంగ మార్గం ఉంది. దీనిని నేలబొయ్యారం
ని పిలుస్తారు. ఇప్పుడు దీనిని మూసివేశారు. చిత్రంలో చూడవచ్చు. ఇది జన
సంచారం పెరిగే మొన్న మొన్నటి కాలం వరకు మహర్షులు తపస్సుకు, యజ్ఞ యాగాదులకు
ఎంచుకున్న ఏకాంత పుణ్య రహస్య స్థలంగా భావించబడుతోంది. ఇప్పటికీ ఈ కొండలో
నుండి రాత్రి వేళల్లో ఓంకారం వినిపించడం, శివలింగానికి నాగుపాము
ప్రదక్షిణలు జరపడం విశేషంగా భక్తులు చెపుతుంటారు.
నేలబొయ్యారం లోని విశేషం తెలుసుకుందామని భావించిన అర్చకులు, కొందరు గ్రామ
పెద్దలు కలిసి సొరంగం లోకి కొంతదూరం ప్రయాణం చేసి, ఇరుకైన, గాలి రాని,
గబ్బిలాల వాసనతో నిండిన దారిలో ముందుకు సాగ లేక వెనక్కి వచ్చేశారని
స్థలపురాణం చెపుతోంది. ఈ గుహకు ప్రక్కనుంచి పై నున్న వీరాంజనేయస్వామి
ఆలయానికి మెట్లు ఉన్నాయి. ఈ మెట్లు కూడ నిలువుగా పెద్ద కొండ రాళ్ళమథ్య
నుంచి సాగిపోతాయి. ఈ ఆంజనేయుని దర్శనానికి వేకువజామునే సుదూర
ప్రాంతాలనుండిభక్తులు వచ్చి ఉప్పురాశి గా పోసి ,దాని పై ప్రమిదలు పెట్టి
దీపాలు వెలిగించి, ప్రదక్షిణలు చేస్తారు. ఎటువంటి భూత , ప్రేత,పిశాచాది
బాధలున్నా తొలగిపోతాయని, సంతానం లేనివారు సంతానం పొందుతారని భక్తుల నమ్మకం.

గుహల నుండి పాల లాంటి నీరు ప్రవహించేదట. ఆ నీరు చెరువులో కలసి పాలేరు గా
ప్రవహించి, గోదావరి లో కలుస్తుంది. అందువలన పాలేరు కు జన్మనిచ్చిన ఈ
మహాక్షేత్రమే పాలకుర్తి గా ప్రసిద్ధిపొందింది. పాలకురికి గ్రామమే క్రమంగా
పాలకుర్తి అయ్యింది. దీనినే పండితులు” క్షీరగిరి “అని కూడ పిలుస్తారు.

శ్రీ సోమేశ్వరుడు గుహలోపలికి ఎత్తైన తిన్నె పై స్వచ్ఛధవళ కాంతులనీనుతూ
సుమారు అడుగున్నర ప్రమాణం లో పానమట్టం పై వెలసి, భక్తులకు దర్శన
మిస్తున్నాడు.ఆర్జితసేవ లో భక్తులకు స్వయంగా స్వామికి అభిషేకం చేసే అవకాశం

వీరశైవ కావ్య నిర్మాణ థౌరేయుడు, బసవ పురాణ కావ్యకర్త, మహాకవి శ్రీ
పాల్కురికి సోమనాథుడు జన్మించాడు. శ్రీ విష్ణురామిదేవుడు, శ్రియా దేవమ్మ
దంపతులకు శ్రీ సోమేశ్వర స్వామి వరప్రసాదం గా ఆమహానుభావుడు జన్మించాడు.
అందుకే తల్లిదండ్రులు ఆయనకు సోమనాథుడని పేరు పెట్టుకున్నారు. శ్రీ
సోమనాథుడు ఈ సోమేశ్వరుని స్తుతిస్తూ “సోమనాథుని స్వవాలు” వ్రాశాడని
చెపుతారు. అనుభవసారము,బసవపురాణము,పండితారాథ్యచరిత్ర, చతుర్వేద సారము మొదలైన
అనేక గ్రంథాలను, ఎన్నో లఘుకృతులను సోమనాథుడు రచించాడు. ఈ గ్రామం లో
సోమనాథుని స్మృతి చిహ్నం గా నిర్మించిన శివాలయం ఉంది. శ్రీ ఆంథ్ర మహాభాగవత

చేయించి శ్రీ స్వామి వారికి సమర్పిస్తారు.అనారోగ్యం తో బాధపడేవారు అవయవాలను
