తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రంలో అతిపెద్ద శత్రుదుర్భేద్యమైన కోట. ఇది అద్భుత శిల్పకళా సంపదకు, నాటి శిల్పకళా నైపుణ్యానికి ననిలువెత్తు నిదర్శనం. హైదరాబాద్ నుండి 215 కి. మీ ల దూరంలో, కరీంనగర్ నుండి 40 కి. మీ ల దూరంలో ఒక ఎత్తైన కొండ మీద ఈ కోట నిర్మితమైనది.
చరిత్ర :
 
రామగిరి ఖిల్లాను క్రీ.శ 1వ శతాబ్దంలో నిర్మించినట్లు … శాతవాహనాలు, పులోమావి వంశస్థులు పాలించినట్లు పురావస్తు తవ్వకాల్లో బయటపడ్డ కొన్ని ఆధారాల ద్వారా తేటతెల్లమయ్యాయి. ఆ తరువాత ఖిల్లాను ప్రతాపరుద్రుడు, బహమనీ సుల్తానులు, రెడ్డిరాజులు, మొఘలులు, గోల్కొండ నవాబులు, నిజాం నవాబులు పాలించారు. చివరగా స్వాతంత్య్ర భారతావనిలో అంతర్భాగమైనది.

రాముడు నడియాడిన నేల పౌరాణికం లో రామగిరి ఖిల్లా గురించి ప్రస్తావించబడింది. ముఖ్యంగా రామాయణంలో. రాముడు వనవాస సమయంలో ఇక్కడ కొద్ది రోజులపాటు కుటీరం ఏర్పరుచుకొని నివసించినట్లు మరియు తపస్సు ను ఆచరించి శివలింగాన్ని ప్రతిష్టించినట్లు చెబుతారు. ఈ ప్రదేశంలో సీతారామలక్ష్మణులు సంచరించినట్లు ఆనవాళ్లు పర్యాటకులకు దర్శనమిస్తాయి.

వాయు మార్గం : సమీపాన 215 కి. మీ ల దూరంలో శంషాబాద్ అంతర్జాతీయ విమానాశ్రయం కలదు. అక్కడి నుండి క్యాబ్ లేదా టాక్సీ లలో ఎక్కి రామగిరి ఖిల్లా చేరుకోవచ్చు.
రైలు మార్గం : పెద్దపల్లి రైల్వే స్టేషన్ రామగిరి ఖిల్లా కు 20 కి. మీ ల దూరంలో కలదు. ఈ స్టేషన్ న్యూఢిల్లీ – కాజీపేట రైలు మార్గంలో కలదు. పెద్దపల్లిలో దిగి ఆటోలు లేదా ప్రభుత్వ బస్సులలో చేరుకోవచ్చు.
రోడ్డు మార్గం / బస్సు మార్గం : కరీంనగర్ నుండి మంథని – కాళేశ్వరం వెళ్లే దారిలో రామగిరి ఖిల్లా కలదు. కమాన్ పూర్ మండలంలోని నాగపల్లె బేంగంపేట క్రాస్ రోడ్నుంచి బేంగంపేట గ్రామం మీదుగా 2 కి. మీ. ల దూరం కాలినడకన నడిస్తే రామగిరి కోట చేరుకోవచ్చు. ఈ కోట మొత్తం చూడాలంటే 16 కి.మీ ల దూరం నడవాల్సి ఉంటుంది.
