History of Surendrapuri Temple
Surendrapuri Temple was created and was built entirely in the hands of the Sri Kunda Satyanarayana. The temple was built by a farming family in a tiny village close to Khammam. Because he was from an agricultural family he was not able to go on to higher education.
The inspiration for the shrine was the sudden demise of his child Surendra Babu. His long-standing and deep-rooted love for Indian tradition and culture was appropriate to inspire an imaginary park.
When he began building this temple, he had to face numerous obstacles, his old age, disabling social and professional contacts, and massive costs. He resisted all challenges and began working on the temple at age 70.
It took more than 10 years to construct Surendrapuri to its final form. It is solid evidence of a man’s vision and determination.
