About BRAU:

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam was founded by Andhra Pradesh Provincial Government GO vide MS No: 89 Higher Education (UE.II) Department of 25/06/2008, with the aim of expanding the educational facilities in the Srikakulam district and provide educational needs of the population of the district. With G.O MS No.: 138 University (UE.II) of 28.07.2008, Prof. S.V. Sudhakar, Department of Social Work, Andhra University became the first vice-chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam and he assumes the position of Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam on the 28/07/2008.

G.O. MS No: 159 Higher Education (UE.II) The department of 07.08.2008 has transferred the existing campus of the Andhra University in Etcherla to the administrative control of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University-Srikakulam. Prof. H.Lajipathi Rai, Dept of Commerce, SriKrishnadevaraya University, Ananthapur was appointed second vice-chancellor for two years, G.O.Ms.Nr. 29, Dt. 15-05-2013 who takes the charge on 17-5-2013.
