In 1980 Indira Gandhi’s government P.F.Y. (Polyester filament yarn) manufacturing facility was made available to private companies. Reliance also applied for a license and was able to obtain a permit from Tata, Birla, and 43 giants. Dhirubhai Ambani offered Mukesh an MBA to build a PFY (Polyester Filament Yarn) factory.
