The temple is situated 1,500 feet above sea level on Puttakonda, a hillock in the forest. On the way to Shikanjaneya, there is a Hanuman Temple. Shikanjaneya (Kshetrapalaka) is said to be the ruler of Mallur fields.
Volcano mountain is home to Narasimha Swamy, the deity. According to priests, the Idol sense is the human body with hair on its chest. The Idol sense can be seen by touching the chest with the forefinger.
The trench that was formed by pressing the chest impression onto the chest can be seen if we take off the finger. This is the Hemachala Temple’s specialty.
The 9.2-foot tall Idol produces water from the Naval, which is used as theertham by devotees. The water is believed to be a way for devotees to escape from their sins and diseases.
Water flowing from the Maha Vishnu’s naval is made up of Sandal. Devotees travel from far away to this Chandana Dhravam.
History of Malluru Narasimha Swamy Temple
It dates back to the 6th century and has been there for 4776 years. The hillock Hemachala was named after Agastya, a Sage. According to legend, Ravana, the demon king of demons, gifted this spot to Shurpanaka. This is the place where Lord Rama killed almost 14,000 demons under Khara Dushana.
The Lord is Koneru’s feet. Rani Rudrama Devi gave the stream Chintamani Jalapatham its name. The hemachala Narasimha Swamy temple is protected by the State Government as a biodiversity area of herbals.
To honor the sacredness of the temple, it is deliberately kept hidden from public view. The Endowments Department purchased the temple from priests who have rewritten the laws passed down to them from their ancestors. The Godavari Pushkar era saw the temple renovated.
